Diversify your teaching capabilities by becoming a licensed reading and literacy instructor.

Walden University's Reading K–12 Endorsement program takes you beyond teaching basic literacy skills to exploring methods and techniques that engage students in active reading, critical thinking, and thoughtful writing.

Credits earned from this endorsement program may be applied toward Walden's MS in Education with a specialization in Reading and Literacy with a Reading K–12 Endorsement.

Through this endorsement program, you can:

  • Participate in hands-on field experience activities.
  • Examine reading theories, practices, and the latest research in the field.
  • Learn to diagnose reading difficulties and plan effective reading and writing instruction for students of all cultures, languages, and academic abilities.
