We’re a Pioneer In Distance Learning

In 1970, two educators were inspired to create opportunities for working professionals where there previously were none. Our founders saw the potential of distance learning to help adult learners earn advanced degrees. That’s how Walden University was born.

If you’re a working professional—or anyone else who needs the flexibility to earn a degree—we’re here for you. Walden has the bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral, or certificate program you need to change your world and the world around you.

A Student-Centered Approach to Learning

Our learning model encourages a deeper level of student discussion and immersive conversations that engage everyone in your online classroom. By collaborating with professionals from different fields and cultural experiences, you’ll gain a broad range of perspectives and best practices you can apply to drive change in your own organization and community.

  • Flexible Scheduling— Our online learning model is designed to fit your busy schedule. This means you can participate in classes on a weekly basis, whenever it's convenient for you.

  • Assessment and Evaluation—Tests are delivered online and are typically scored when you finish, which provides you with immediate feedback. Papers and projects are submitted through a drop box.

  • Online Student Support— Our Student Support Team guides you through the online learning experience, including providing a Student Readiness Orientation to help you get ready for your first online course.

Help With Financing Your Education

Determining your program costs and how to pay for your education may feel overwhelming—but it doesn’t have to be. Take a look at some of your options, including federal financial aid. You may be surprised by the number of resources available to help make your dreams a reality.

  • Federal Financial Aid— If you’re a U.S. citizen or an eligible noncitizen, you may be able to receive federal financial aid to help you fund your higher education.

  • Grants and Loans—Walden is approved by the U.S. Department of Education to participate in a variety of grant and loan programs.

  • Program-Specific Savings— Your success matters. That’s why we offer multiple ways to save on your degree, including limited-time savings.

Walden Admissions

Walden has designed its admissions process to be as easy and streamlined as possible. You’ll work one-on-one with an Enrollment Specialist who’ll guide you through every step— from finding the right program to funding your education. You’re never alone.

  • Choose your program— Admissions requirements differ across our online degree programs. If you need help selecting a program, an Enrollment Specialist will walk you through your options.

  • Get support—Your Enrollment Specialist will guide you through the admissions process and answer any program-specific questions you may have.

  • Order transcripts—Certain documents are needed for your application; most importantly, transcripts from previous institutions. Make a list of the schools you’ve attended and we’ll tell you how to order transcripts.
